How to Build a Healthy Skin-Care Routine

Cleanse, moisturise, protect: a simple, sustainable skin-care routine for body and hands, with Ayurveda-inspired habits.

A healthy skin-care routine does not need many steps. Consistency matters more than the number of products you use.

1. Cleanse gently

Use lukewarm water and a mild cleanser. Very hot water and harsh soaps can leave skin dry.

2. Moisturise

Apply body lotion after bathing and hand cream through the day. Focus on dry areas.

3. Protect

Use sun protection on exposed skin, wear gloves for chores, and cover up in harsh weather.

4. Support from within

Drink enough water, eat a balanced diet, sleep well and manage stress — habits that Ayurveda has long emphasised.

5. Add a little ritual

An Ayurveda-inspired oil massage before bathing, once or twice a week, can make your routine feel more relaxing.

When to see a professional

See a dermatologist for persistent rashes, itching, acne, patches, or any changes in moles.
