In Ayurveda, dinacharya means “daily conduct” — a rhythm of small habits that supports wellbeing. You do not need hours each day. A few consistent steps can make a difference to how you feel.
Morning
- Wake at a regular time. Consistency helps your body settle into a rhythm.
- Hydrate. A glass of water to start the day.
- Cleanse. Brush, wash and refresh.
- Move. A short walk, yoga or stretching.
- Self-massage. A few minutes of oil massage before bathing is a classic Ayurvedic habit.
During the day
- Eat meals at regular times and without rushing.
- Take short breaks to stand and stretch if you sit for long periods.
- Moisturise hands after frequent washing.
Evening
- Have a lighter dinner, not too late.
- Reduce screen time before bed.
- A gentle massage of tired legs, shoulders or feet can help you unwind.
- Moisturise skin and care for your hair before sleep.
Make it your own
The best routine is one you can keep. Start with two or three habits and build from there. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or take regular medicines, check with your healthcare provider before making significant changes to diet or exercise.
